Stay calm, this update is still (for the most part) positive! Due to the unseasonably high temperatures Blue Mountain has been experiencing we will be making significant changes to our event scheduling and course for this coming weekend. In order to preserve the existing snow and construct a brand new course, practice will no longer be offered on Thursday March 22, 2012. Practice time will still be made available to athletes in advance of their qualifying runs. At this time, the new course will be located under the Silver Bullet chairlift on Smart Alec, just above the main village. Based on the available snow on the neighbouring two hills we are realistically expecting to be able to offer competitors the following three decks; two of the decks will consist of two rails each, and one deck will consist of a medium-sized terrain park jump. The course will be a hike up only for Friday’s contest with the hopes of having access to a chair lift on Saturday. For those looking to pre – register on Thursday for Friday or Saturday, registration will still be open in the Summit Room in Grand Central Lodge from 9:00AM – 1:00PM. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to the tour as we are all truly committed to making this the best event possible based on the conditions and weather.
